Kensington is an unincorporated area of Contra Costa County that borders Alameda County . It's an intimate community with small town feel and big city sophistication and high real estate values in the hills above El Cerrito and north of Berkeley. Public transportation along Arlington Avenue, the main drag through this area code, gets you where you want to go.  Neighborhoods are welcoming, the eateries are fun and first-rate, and kids have lots of places to play. Get your Groceries at Safeway, and one of the best burgers in Berkeley at Barney's Gourmet Hamburgers.  One of the local schools is Thousand Oaks Elementary.
